The Cloud 34 Ribbon Microphone, named in loving memory of Jon R. Sank (1934-1998), was designed by his son, Stephen Sank. Steve's father, Jon R. Sank, was Harry Olson’s successor at *RCA’s microphone division from the late 50’s through the early 70’s. Jon was instrumental in the design and production of RCA’s BK-11 and other world-class ribbon microphones. When RCA closed it’s microphone division in 1974, Jon left with a lifetime of tools and knowledge which he passed on to his son, Steve. Today, Steve and his wife Cynthia continue the family tradition of developing quality hand crafted ribbon microphones.
